Certified Professionals in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ) must maintain their certification by participating in ongoing professional development activities such as continuing education courses, information transfer to other professionals and the public, support of professional organizations, and community extension that promotes the profession. Certified professionals must accumulate a minimum of 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) over a three year period in order to maintain their credentials. Certified professionals self-report PDUs every three years. In-training registrants are also required to accumulate a minimum of 10 PDUs per year.
There is no requirement for pre- or post-approval of PDUs for CPESC or CPSWQ. Your chapter only needs to provide verification of attendance to professional development participants. Individuals maintain and report their own CEUs. All PDU information is managed from the CPESC, Inc. office in Marion, North Carolina.
Regional representatives of CPESC, Inc. may be available to help arrange and promote SWCS professional development activities. Contact CPESC, Inc. for more information.
